UCSD Cross-Cultural Center

Submit   The vision of the Cross-Cultural Center (CCC) is to empower UCSD to recognize, challenge, and take proactive approaches to diversity for the campus and the San Diego community. We strive for meaningful dialogues and context across all cultures, particularly those of underrepresented or underprivileged backgrounds. We offer supportive and educational services through art, programs, workshops, and outreach, and we welcome creative venues for enhancing social consciousness and equity.

Sex Positivity and Sexual Health

With budget cuts and lack of family knowledge, many teens and young adults find themselves unaware and uninformed about sexual health problems. Often times, they go on to having sexual relationships without knowing about STDs and how to prevent them. With so many responsibilities and classes, it’s easy to get swept up in the college life and forget to take care of yourself. Please take a few seconds today to read this article on STDs and inform yourself on how to have safer sex: http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-topics/stds-hiv-safer-sex-101.htm. Also, if you are interested in getting yourself tested, there is a link on the website that’ll direct you to the nearest clinic. UCSD student health services gives free HIV testing for students with SHIP, and $15 for students without it. If you are interested in further learning about our clinic, feel free to go to their wesite: http://studenthealth.ucsd.edu/

Behind Closed Doors

Thursday | February 16 | 6:30-8pm NEW TIME

CCC Comunidad

Remember that awkward conversation you had with family when you were younger about “the birds and the bees”? Well we’ll be having a conversation like that, but better! Lea from the Rubber Rose will be coming to talk about safe sex and the various products she sells ranging from lubricants to sex toys. The Rubber Rose is a local adult boutique determined to radicalize the sex toy industry and people’s vision of the fluidity of human sexuality. Their mission is to facilitate community growth in the worlds of art, activism, and adult sexuality. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to email me at jnetperez@gmail.com.
